Position Description :
The Echo Lab at the Hospital University of Pennsylvania is very specialized in the patient population that the unit serves. The Echo Lab sees over 120 patients daily in outpatient and inpatient areas combined. This patient population consists of routine echo’s that have sub specialties of inherited disease, congenital, transplant including VAD’s, structural heart, stress Echo’s and TEE’s. Also, the Echo Lab at the Hospital University of Pennsylvania is involved with many research studies that require ECHO’s and therefore special training. The Echo Lab equipment is predominately Philips and GE. The Echo Lab is an IAC certified Lab and follow the ASE guidelines in creating the policy and procedures that govern the lab structure.
The Cardiac Sonographer will provide high quality echocardiographic studies, including all services that the department provides, to ensure patient health, safety and well being. Accurate analysis and evaluation of all studies will be provided to the interpreting physician for review. Will adhere to hospital and department policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements :
-Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Science and/or related field such as biology or 5+ years of clinical experience in Adult Cardiac Echo.
-ARDMS/CCI certification required preferably with Echo experience
