The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is hiring a Radiology Manager for the Nuclear Medicne/PET!

  • The Nuclear Medicine Manager leads a team of dedicated physicians, technologists and researchers who are focused on delivering world-class clinical care and advancing research. As an integral leader within our division, the NM/PET Manager will oversee staffing and workforce development at Hospital University of Pennsylvania (HUP) main campus and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). Additionally, the Manager will serve as the primary contact for managing radiopharmaceutical supplies, reconciling invoices, monitoring reimbursement/price changes (for example, changes in pass-through status for PET diagnostic agents), and maintaining vendor relationships. Prospective candidates must possess extensive knowledge of nuclear medicine in line with SNMMI professional standards. They are expected to act as a key resource for staff members by providing guidance, participating in shared governance structures, and contributing to the development of procedural standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly meets with all employees to improve communication and to build productive relationships.

  • Ensures that the productivity and actions of the group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

  • Establish/update processes and work practices for the unit/department.

  • Ensures the department is always ready for planned and unannounced inspections. •Ensures that the quality of work is consistent and meets the needs of the ordered exam, the ACR/TJC guidelines, as well as the patient’s expectations.

Financial Management

  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue, and or expense budgets.

  • Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

  • Review Financial Reports distributed to ensure all activity within an AU’s are expensed in the month.

  • Preview monthly expense reports to detect errors/discrepancies and resolve issues

  • Provide budget variance explanations to Radiology Administration

  • Analyze and manage data as a tool to manage expenses

  • Ensure Requestor understands Material Management Processes

Change Management

  • Proactively develops change management strategy for major organizational activities and events oImplements change management strategy within the Department and UPHS in alignment with UPHS objectives.

  • Identifies and facilitates agreement of major messages which are consistent and reflects UPHS’ core values

  • Communication plans are effectively implemented

  • Ensure appropriate follow-up of major issues. oManage routine and crisis communications throughout the entity/community as they arise

  • Demonstrates recognition of the systemic impact of employee communication and/or policy changes and solicits proactive feedback prior to implementation.

  • Evaluates effectiveness of change and implementation plans.

  • Creates processes to effectively improve patient care and time efficient diagnosis

  • Manage sections Unread studies and creates physician addendums

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Radiology Administration, Healthcare Administration preferred.

  • 2 years Managerial experience in diagnostic area preferred

  • ARRT (N) OR CNMT Certification Required.
