The Department of the Physical Plant at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Full-Time Multi-Skilled Plant Operator:

Responsibilities:

Maintenance, installation and repair of commercial / industrial HVAC systems and HVAC & Boiler equipment.

Testing and preventive maintenance on HVAC & Boiler related equipment.

When needed, work with 3-phase Electric and be able to troubleshoot electrical control circuits.

Experience with Plumbing systems; Carpentry and Lock repairs; Painting, Patching and Wall Coverings is a plus.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

  • A minimum of two (2) years of specialized training for HVAC (Required)

  • A minimum of 4 years full time HVAC experience with a bona fide HVAC contractor or employer (Required)

  • Experience working with Boilers (Preferred)

  • Experience in Healthcare facilities (Preferred)

Additional Information:

A Philadelphia Engineer’s “A” License or equivalent license is required. Candidates that do not have the required licenses at the time of hire must obtain the Philadelphia Engineer’s Class “A” License and have it filed with the Physical Plant Department office within 180 days of employment.

A CFC license for handling low tonnage (chillers) cooling equipment must also be obtained with 180 days of employment.
