Summary:

  • Provides service oriented patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs duties that support the operation of the nursing unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Prvides age apprpriate care fr the patient ppulatin served.Uses apprpriate resurces fr patients with special needsIntegrates principles f infectin preventin int practice.Respnsible fr stcking all patient care rms, clsets at the beginning f the shift and rdering necessary supplies.Check the blanket/fluid warmer utside the R fr utdated materials: stck with blankets, sheets, gwns. Date slutins and recrd warmer temperature.Dck Neptune and restck cartridgesBring a bed frm Mther Baby and place it utside the R fr C/Sectin.Maintains equipment rm: ensure equipment is clean and rganized, peanut balls/birthing balls are cleaned and bagged, all mnitrs are cleaned and bagged, instruments are rganized.Stck and prepare vaginal delivery tableAfter delivery: makes an icepack, prvide beverage as requested, bring infant scale t rm, remve delivery table, deliver used instruments t Sterile Prcessing.Pick up sterile supplies frm Sterile Prcessing.Additinal Respnsibilities: ensure siled utility rm is clean/rderly. Maintain placenta refrigeratr (discard placentas after 7 days, and remve placenta triage frms). Take placentas t lab, restck Frmalin.Secure HUGS tags and stcked baby cribspen R fr c/s utilizing sterile techniqueAssist nursing staff with vital signs, fetal mnitr, bedside glucse mnitring as directed by RNAssists with entering lab results int PENN chart

Credentials:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)

  • 44504

  • Certified Nurse Aid

  • Certified Nursing Assistant

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

  • 0-1 years Training and/or experience at an acute care or skilled nursing facility or student nurse with hospital based clinical experience
